Project Management
Each client is assigned one of our dedicated Project Managers to coordinate all aspects of the project. The Project Manager serves as a direct point of contact for questions, concerns, special requests, modifications, and assistance throughout construction. Their extensive experience and knowledge enable them to respond quickly to all requests and to take action when the need arises.

Joseph Brown
President and CEO
Joseph Brown founded Brown Contracting in 1984, initially to provide painting services to local general contractors. Under his guidance the company rapidly widened its scope to include acoustical ceiling, drywall, and paint and wall coverings for large projects.
In 1988 Brown Contracting established itself as a general contractor, quickly moving from small tenant improvement projects to large multi-building facilities and new construction.
Today, as the initial point-of-contact for all clients, Mr. Brown ls responsible for general oversight and the direction of the firm, with a direct focus on business development, marketing and interior construction.
Knowledgeable in every phase of commercial construction, Mr. Brown has been involved in hundreds of projects, many of which received awards from local trade publications, American Institute of Architects (AIA), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), American Woodworking Institute (AWI) and Historic Annapolis Foundation to name a few.
Mr. Brown is an Allied Member of the American Institute of Architects and actively represents the company in Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
Mike Richardson
Vice President – Operations
Mike brings the firm experience in all facets of commercial business development and commercial construction. He has over 20 years’ experience in complex project management, operations management, sales and marketing in the telecommunications, software development and construction industries. Mike has a BS Mechanical Engineering from Western New England University and a MS in Mechanical Engineering Johns Hopkins University.

Senior Project Manager – Project Division

He has over 20 years’ experience in complex project management, operations management, sales and marketing in the telecommunications, software development and construction industries.
